Specimen: Pargasite on Marble matrix

When first mine, miner was excited thought it was emerald, after some investigation done with gemological and mineralogical diagnostic it was made know that it was not emerald, but a rare minerals now known as Pargasite.
Pargasite is an uncommon very complex silicate species. This very fine specimen came out int the late 1990s, labeled as being from China; and later it turns out that they came over the border from Vietnam. They are certainly the most beautiful known examples of this species, normally relegated to a rather dull, unattractive, dark-coloured specimen. This piece is a superb colour, lustre and saturated green hue in contrasting marble matrix.
